The Central Texas College Police Academy (TCOLE License Number 511261) is designed to prepare students to pass the basic peace officer licensing exam given by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). Once a cadet successfully completes the academy, they will be eligible to take the peace officer licensing exam. Once the cadet passes the exam, they will have a significantly higher chance of being hired by a law enforcement agency anywhere in Texas. 

The CTC Police academy runs Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The Central Texas College Police Academy is now accepting applications for our academy that starts on March 31. The application deadline is close of business on March 7. Degrees and Certificates

The CTC police academy program is offered as a full time day academy.

Cadets have the opportunity to attend the Police Academy for college credits. Upon successful completion, the cadet can earn 24 college credit hours and a certificate of completion. These hours can be applied to the CTC Associate of Applied Science degree in protective services: Texas peace officer after serving one year as a Peace Officer.

A requirement of the CTC Police Academy is all cadets must be able to perform strenuous physical activities.

All applicants must meet special admission requirements and contact the academy directly for an admissions packet.

Transfer Agreements

Central Texas College offers 2 Plus 2 transfer agreements with four-year schools. This allows students to start at CTC and smoothly transfer to a bachelor’s program, with all courses counting toward their degree.

Transferring from Central Texas College to a four-year college or university is a popular path to a bachelor's degree.
