The Child Development program provides education and hands-on experiences for students planning to work with young children. We assist students in making intelligent career choices, and keeping abreast of the latest child development research and practice.
An integral part of our program is our Lab school, so a complementary mission is to provide quality child care for children, ages infant through five years of age, through our Child Care Center/Lab School. The center provides a child-centered, play-based environment that addresses the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social and cultural needs of the children it serves. The Center is a model child care center for the community, and provides a developmentally appropriate environment for college students to complete quality lab experiences.
Central Texas College provides accessible, equitable and quality educational opportunities that promote student success, completion and employability.
