CTC offers industrial technology programs on its central campus that lead to Certificates of Completion and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees. These programs of instruction are Automotive, Auto Collision, Building Trades (Maintenance Technology), Cosmetology, Diesel, Graphics and Printing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Truck Driving, and Welding. Selected programs are taught at other Continental and International sites.

Most certificate programs are open-entry, competency-based, self-paced programs. In simple terms, you may enroll and begin at any time, set your own schedule, and learn to perform "industry-validated" tasks at your own pace, provided that the class is completed within the time limitations specified by the state. These programs will articulate directly to an AAS degree program without loss of credits with the exception of Cosmetology and Truck Driving.

The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Certificate programs are taught as traditional college classes. Enrollment in these programs occurs during the normal registration periods (fall, spring, and summer semesters). The classes meet on fixed semester schedule and are taught in the lecture/lab mode. In addition to the core curriculum, this program and all AAS programs typically contain 17-20 credit hours of academic courses. Students enrolled in Level I certificate programs are exempt from Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) testing. Level II certificates and Associates of Applied Science degrees may require the student to take the THEA examination.
