Fort Stewart & Hunter Army Airfield
Our primary customer, the 3d Infantry Division, makes, Fort Benning and Hunter Army Airfield its home while serving as the iron fist of XVIIIth Airborne Corps.
Fort Stewart is the largest Army installation east of the Mississippi River. It covers 279,270 acres, which include parts of Liberty, Long, Bryan, Evans and Tattnall Counties and is home to the legendary 3rd Infantry Division.
Established in 1917, the 3rd Infantry Division is battle-tested and battle-hardened. From World War I, where the division earned its nickname, “Rock of the Marne,” to Operation Iraqi Freedom, Marne Soldiers have achieved legendary accomplishments and established a lasting heritage of service to our country.
Hunter Army Airfield is located in Chatham County, adjacent to the southwest side of the city of Savannah. It is the U.S. Army’s premier heavy force power projection platform on the East Coast. It is also home for units of the 3d Infantry Division (Mechanized) headquartered at Fort Stewart.
