Prohibited Weapons On Campus
The possession of a firearm, illegal knife, or prohibited weapon on the grounds of an educational institution is a third-degree felony in Texas. You should never bring weapons onto campus, outside of concealed carry provisions, and you should call Campus Police if you see an armed individual or an open carry violation. By law the following weapons are prohibited on campus:
- Firearms (other than concealed with license)
- Explosive weapons
- Machine guns
- Short-barreled firearms
- Firearm silencer
- Knuckles
- Armor-piercing ammunition
- Chemical dispensing devices
- Zip guns
