These programs are offered to transitioning Fort Hood soldiers by Central Texas College - Central Campus location in partnership with business and industry.


HVAC

Offered in partnership with AirTron and One Hour Air Conditioning

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

  • Eight-week full-time program includes hands-on, competency-based HVAC instruction at CTC’s facility on the central campus in Killeen.
  • Students complete five non-credit courses and earn continuing education units.
  • No cost to transitioning soldiers and veterans—tuition paid by Airtron and One Hour Air Conditioning. All materials are provided.

Classes are held in Bldg. 118 on the central campus in Killeen; Tuesdays through Fridays; 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

WHAT TO EXPECT UPON COMPLETION:

  • Transitioning active-duty military and veterans who successfully complete the program have a high probability of employment with AirTron and One Hour Air Conditioning in San Antonio and Houston, and eventually throughout the state of Texas.
  • Upon completion of training, the candidate will continue on-the-job working with an experienced HVAC technician.
  • Average starting salary for HVAC technicians is $15 plus commission.
