WHAT IS COLLEGE FOR KIDS?

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of our College for Kids program, designed to ignite curiosity, inspire creativity, and foster a love for learning among the youth in our community. With an array of engaging and educational courses tailored to various interests and age groups, there's something for every young mind to explore and discover.

CEBC 0301 - BASIC AID TRAINING AGES 9-12:

Basic Aid Training (BAT) introduces children to safety information and first aid procedures for a variety of situations with emphasis on safety, recognizing an emergency, getting help and caring for a victim. Students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to know how to check and help someone that is choking, perform hands only CPR, identify household poisons and how to prevent poisoning, and how to treat minor first aid injuries. Students will receive a Certificate of Training from First Aid 4-U at the end of class. Also included as a class bonus is American Red Cross's Prepare with Pedro program. Prepare with Pedro is a preparedness education program that teaches students how to be prepared and take action for either home fires or a local hazard through a story  Featuring a penguin named Pedro. Students learn a coping skill and receive a storybook to share what they have learned at home.

CEBC 0301 - BABYSITTER TRAINING AGES 12-17:

The American Red Cross Babysitter's Training course is designed to equip young individuals aged 12-16 with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible childcare. This comprehensive course covers a wide range of topics, empowering participants to become confident and capable babysitters.

CESM 0201 - SLIPPERY SLIMY SCIENCE AGES 8-11:

Become a mad scientist in training and learn some fun science stuff! Make ooze, a lava lamp, plastic milk, worms and other slimy and fun take-home projects  that will help you learn about scientific principles. Students will use the scientific method in order to document outcomes in a science notebook. Students will  also receive worksheets so projects can be repeated at home or for a school science project.  Course price includes all project supplies. Bring water and a light snack for break time.

CESM 0204 - YOU ROCK! FOSSIL HUNTING AGES 5+

Discover the fun of fossil hunting in central Texas. Students will get an overview of the fossilization process and the environments in which fossils are made.  Learn how to find and identify fossils for your own collection. Each student will create their own 3D layered fossil land-form.

CELC  0101 - SPANISH AGES 8-11

Get ahead in school with your knowledge of Spanish. Learn various customs and courtesies along with phrases, numbers, colors, weeks, months and elementary  sentence construction for initial conversation.

CEAC 0101 - FASHION DESIGN CAMP AGES 8-17:

Summer Fashion Studio is a space for young designers ages 8-16 to learn the fashion design process. Each student will create an inspiration board, practice  fashion sketching, learn basic hand sewing skills, and design an original outfit. The focus will be on up-cycling the classic t-shirt into a dreamy dress using our learned skills. ** Revised Age 8-16

An exciting exploration of the solar system, hosted by Mayborn Planetarium and instructor. Students will learn from hands on activities paired with advanced  data-driven, cinematic-quality visualizations to explore some of the greatest questions in science today.

CTC offers tours around campus tailored for individual students and groups, such as home-school groups and local ISD student groups. Explore various pathways at CTC and discover specific opportunities available. Home-school groups, ISD school groups, parents, and independent students are encouraged to take advantage of this complimentary service.
